A work in progress about a painting I did inspired by the combination of Aquarius and Let the Sunshine in from the musical hair. It’s about wanting to help people and yourself see the light.
My art continues to evolve–improve, even. Yet the Muse who whispers to my soul keeps surprising me with the pieces that emerge–she seems to have her own ideas in mind about the direction we’re heading in. Sure, that’s always been my role–to bring her whispers out into the world. And the whispers come whether I want them to or not. But even though I’ve formally studied and practiced certain topics–like skeletal anatomy and composition–I find my art and my style growing in unexpected ways. I suppose surprises are a fun part of any journey though–so I’m happy to keep discovering what my muse has in mind next time I put my pencil to paper (or stylus to tablet, when applicable.
Oh, and I guess I can post what music is driving my art lately from time to time:
Seriously, Coca-Cola just served advertising as a genre–I would like to see more advertising-as-patronage for amazing work like this… It’s this kind of beautiful feeling I try to express in my art.
