What inspires you?
For whatever reason, I find that being part of a DND, Pathfinder, or other tabletop gaming group as a player inspires me like crazy. You’d think it would be harder to concentrate with all that going on around you, and yet I consistently find myself far more likely to complete pictures when I am in that environment.
Today was my Pathfinder gaming night. Unfortunately I’ve been working with a large canvas board, which is too big to scan and I don’t have a camera on hand, so I’ll have to wait to show it until one of those facts changes.
I actually finished laying down the entire composition, and I even laid down the base tracing of the painting outlines in acrylic marker. I will be doing a wash over it afterwards–probably a sienna wash or something earthy like that, or maybe something a bit more mystical, I’m not sure. At this point, I’ll be establishing much of the mood, so I want to get it right.
Anyway, leave a comment about what inspires you, and if you’ve recognized it, what context leads you to complete stuff.
