Breathing is one pattern that I find to be ubiquitous in… everything. Existence.
In art, I find that my progression also follows a breathing pattern–research/tutorials, (breath in), practice/finish pieces (breath out). Even if it’s not directly studying, breathing in by exposing myself to things that inspire me is hugely important.
This is the beginnings of a painting in Acrylic–I already finished the sketch, then the outlines, then the base wash. Now I’ll start laying in blocks of paint and bringing the light into the piece. This one took on a heavily nature/magic theme. I’m switching between reading Color and Light by James Gurney and working on pieces like this.
